Astronomy Seminar Series 2024-2025
The seminar series aims to provide a broad overview of Astrophysics, exposing students to various astronomy fields and fostering research synergies. It also facilitates interactions among individuals at different career stages, highlighting
diverse professional paths in Astronomy. The selection of speakers is genderbalanced and includes researchers at various career stages, offering a range of experiences. The first edition 2023-2024 academic year) had an attendance rate
of over 90% from the Astronomy division (master’s students, PhDs, post-docs, and professors). The seminars promoted new collaborations and increased awareness of the Astronomy division at UGent and its research activities. Future goals include maintaining high engagement, expanding speaker diversity, and strengthening collaboration within the division.
