IUI: Training day | qualitative healthcare research: introduction to theory and practice

You are invited on a training day on qualitative methods in healthcare research, an interuniversity initiative supported by the OJO call 2026.

Programme
Prof. Jana Declercq, Dr. Marjolein Matthys, and Dr. Leontien Jansen will give short keynote presentations on qualitative approaches in their own health-related research.

You will have the opportunity to present your methodology or (work in progress) papers during the poster pitches and poster session at lunch.

Also, you will have the opportunity to join two workshops on a qualitative methodology:

  • ethnography, by Prof. Jana Declercq & Prof. Toon Cox
  • interviews, by Lien Mertens & Pieter Van Bostraeten
  • focus groups, by Amina Yakhlaf & Flore Vermijs

The day will be closed by Prof. Marc Sabbe, who will wrap up with a short reflection on qualitative approaches in healthcare research.
