Meet the Jury Huy Phan on Audio and EEG processing in the deep learning aera: similarities and differences
Arenberg Doctoral School is proud to invite you to Meet The Jury!
When internationally renowned experts visit KU Leuven as a member of a PhD Examination Committee, we like to seize this opportunity to give this expert a forum to a large audience. All members of Science, Engineering & Technology are most welcome to the Meet The Jury Lectures.
Prof. Huy Phan (Amazon) will give a lecture on “Audio and EEG processing in the deep learning aera: similarities and differences”.
Following the lecture, there will be opportunity for young researchers to interact with him.
Presentation 1: Audio and EEG Processing in the Deep Learning Era: Similarities and Differences by Dr. Huy Phan
Abstract: Audio and EEG are both temporal signals with diverse applications in real-world settings. Despite the distinct information conveyed by these signals, they share commonalities in processing and modeling. This talk will relate audio and EEG processing within the context of contemporary deep learning, discussing their similarities and differences in preprocessing techniques and modeling methods.
Presentation 2: Valorization of EEG Technology: The Story of Clouds of Care / Epilog by Prof. Pieter Van Mierlo, Ghent University
Abstract: The adoption of advanced EEG technology in clinical practice often faces barriers such as interoperability issues, limited resources, and concerns about the validation and security of AI tools. Epilog addresses these challenges by providing integrated, validated, and secure EEG solutions for clinical practice, trials, and research. Our mission is to facilitate precision medicine by bridging engineering and epilepsy care through automated EEG analysis, supporting brain research and treatment development in neurological disorders.
