On 22 May 2024, Johnson & Johnson in Belgium (formerly Janssen Pharmaceutica) together with VLIR and the Belgian Universities, organise an interactive career day with an exclusive focus on life sciences. The one-day event combines plenary sessions with a live poster session and a campus tour of the J&J Beerse site.

The posters will be reviewed by an expert jury and nominated for a best poster award. In addition, the top 3 winners will be offered a follow-up meeting, creating the opportunity to build their network and receive mentorship.

Practicalities

All researchers are invited to submit a short, 100-word non-confidential project description + graphical abstract. The template to be used is available as download at the bottom of this page. The submitted entries will be reviewed on the following criteria:

1. scientific novelty and quality of the project
2. application potential or relevance of the project in domains within the pharma industry

• Firstly, register, free of charge, here. Registrations are now closed.
  
• Secondly, submit your research project description + graphical abstract via e-mail, using the template (download below) to your university representative, see below.
• Do not forget to have the project description signed by your supervisor, so he/she is aware of your participation in the event. Ensure that your supervisor is aware of the fact that J&J also is looking for potential academic collaborations. In case the signature of your supervisor or senior academic host is missing on the form, be sure to include his/her email address in cc.
• Deadline for registration and submission of project descriptions is 21 April 2024. Registrations are now closed. The final posters for the poster session during the Interactive Career Day on 22 May will have to be handed in by 12 May 2024.
